As a psychologist and mindfulness practitioner, I am passionate about working with individuals and couples to help them identify strengths and coping strategies, heal from past and present difficulties, and live a life that feels rich, meaningful and happy.
A combination of over 20 years of professional experience and training, and plenty of life experience including raising three children, has taught me invaluable lessons about listening attentively, openly, and without judgement to each person’s unique situation.
I work closely with my clients to build a supportive professional relationship, and use a holistic approach that is guided by evidence-based psychology techniques and awareness of the mind-body connection.
I currently run a private practice and facilitate stress reduction courses. I also have experience in provision of psychological services to employees around Australia, including support and advice to senior managers with workplace concerns, and provision of psychological first aid and supportive counselling following traumatic events and natural disasters.
I provide professional supervision because I firmly believe in the importance of having the space and guidance to explore and develop areas that are challenging and to reflect on what's going well.
I have a strong interest in cultivating and teaching mindfulness – a way of stepping out of living our lives on autopilot and spending more time in the present, where we can find a sense of ease and peace. In my experience, this is a profound way to enhance psychological resilience and feelings of happiness and contentment for a broad range of people – including myself!
For face to face sessions, I offer Medicare Rebates for customers with Mental Health Plans and Bulk Bill & for people on Centrelink income. Private Health rebates may also be available.
