I am a passionate and practical mental health professional with over ten years of experience in the industry. I believe that my role is to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for you to discover what works best for you.
You can expect me to be open and transparent with what I know from the research about mental health and wellbeing whilst also asking you questions that help you tap into and (re)discover your own knowledge and expertise about what will make a positive difference in your life.
Given that no single approach works 100% of the time for 100% of people, I integrate a range of theories and practice approaches into my work. Depending upon your needs and what is supported by evidence I will draw on: the philosophy of recovery; strengths-based, person-centred and solution-focussed approaches; cognitive behaviour therapy; acceptance and commitment therapy; and elements of mindfulness and positive psychology.
I recognise that mental health affects us all. A plant-based diet and prioritising sleep are two of the most important strategies for maintaining my own mental health.
